Humour me ladies! Looong labour

Hi all!
My waters broke Monday evening and I've been kept in hospital to be monitored. All looks good but no contractions so far but lots of dull period type aching very low down.
Have now had 2 doses of oral medicine to help bring on contractions.
Feeling quite calm but just waiting!
This is my third and not what I expected.
Any experiences of this ? Advice?
I've gone from through several emotions from excited anticipation-nerves- to crying !

I've no personal experience but from what I've read about protracted latent labour, once you get going it can ramp up quickly so be ready for it. How exciting for you, you'll soon have a brand new baby to cuddle.

My waters broke with my first on a Sunday night. No contractions or anything, so was told to stay at home and call the hospital in 24hrs if still nothing was happening.
Nothing did happen. So I rang them Monday night and they told me to go in early Tuesday morning to get induction underway. Started the induction drugs at about 8:30am and my DD was born at 12 noon.
So after 48hrs of my waters being broken and just dull period pains, my actual labour only took 3ish hours once it really got started!

I was induced and was in labour for 2 days so I really feel your pain. Will they let you go for a walk? I sat in my room for the first day in pain and moping. Second day the midwife booted me off the ward and told me to march up and down the stairs. Certainly got things going for me. Though having contractions in the car park was a bit embarrassing

I started being induced on a Tuesday and my DD was born on the Friday evening!

Please to report I finally gave birth in the early hours of this morning to
a lovely little chap ! All doing well , just being kept in for observation. Turns out after the two doses I had , it was enough to bring on contractions. It took a long time to progress but pushing didn't take to long. A great experience ! 😀
