Hi, I'm a British citizen living abroad and I'm coming back to the uk to have my baby. I want to know what hospitals there are in the south of England that you can go to privately for childbirth. And what are the rough costs involved?

Thank you!!

The Portland is the most 'popular'.

Private maternity units in London, like Kensington wing at Chelsea and Westminster, Lindo at St Mary's etc, you are looking at around £10k for a midwife-led package, or about £17-25k for consultant-led, depending on the consultant and if it is a vaginal birth or c section. This includes the ante-natal appointments, though. Guessing you may not be around for those?

The consultants often get booked up very early. I enquired at around 8 weeks and a couple were already fully booked for my due date...!
