Those with experience of these - do you take them in the run up to your due date or just when labour has started?

My midwife recommended them afterwards, to aid healing.

A good alternative is a teaspoon full of sugar in the morning, thrown over your left shoulder. The sugar molecule vapour trail you will get engulfed in has magic healing powers, honest Halo

It's homeopathy isn't it? Which is just nonsense, I wouldn't bother.

I used them after an episiotomy with witch hazel on pads (Reccomend by midwifes) after a few days of absolute agony..Within 3 days of taking them all my bruising was out and I was much more comfortable, they are amazing and if I have another baby they will be the first thing going in my bag!
I would only start taking them after birth :)

Took arnica and calendula tablets for a week up to and after my c section. Consultant remarked on very speedy healing. No idea how it works but no side effects, easy to take, even if it's just a placebo effect, why not take it if it works?

It's not homeopathy. Homeopathy is a load of snake oil bollocks.

It's herbalism. Like Aloe Vera, St John's Wort, Echinacea and Evening Primrose Oil; Arnica has an active ingredient in it and its effect is empirically testable in a lab setting.

I took them in the lead up to labour and after, I healed super quick with my second DD and was on my feet straight after even tho I had a small tear, there was no bruising with her, altho my second labour was faster and very intense and painful.

Glad to be reminded actually I'll be taking them again, I also found having a tube of arnica cream was a god send with a crazy toddler it really heals bruises and bumps very quickly.

I used them with my 2nd dc and healed much quicker, could be luck who knows but if I was to have another (not going to happen!) I would def be taking them.
