lightening and nesting and only 33 weeks

Hello Lovelies

I am 33 weeks today, last weekend I told my dh that I think I have dropped and when I saw my sister on Saturday she could not beleive how big I had gotten and how much I have dropped. I thought it was all in my head until I realised that I could reach things at the end of the bath again, breath easier and not get so much heartburn... Driving has become harder and sitting more uncumfortable as it feels like baby is lying on my lap when I do... So I think I have indeed dropped. I have been told that with the second one it rarly happens until before the birth... hmmm

I also think I may be nesting (dont remember nesting with ds1) as I have had this obsession since last week friday to get everything of babies cleaned and the house spotless, and as I have SPD cant clean it the way I would like to so am getting increadibly frustrated at the smallest amount of mess and dirt - not like me at all!

My sister keeps telling me she will be a Feb baby and keeps saying it happening on the 20th and last night my best friend dreamt that I called her around the same date and told her my waters had gone.. and then I had a healthy baby!!!

Is this nesting? And has anyone else ever dropped this early - is this a sign that she might come early? or is this normal?

Hi- I dropped visibly with my second early too. I'm afraid i can't remember exactly how many weeks I was but I remember it was earlier than with my first, and I dropped about 3 weeks before the birth that time. I got enormous early the second time too- everyone commented on it (even the midwives)

I was really worried that my dates were wrong or that the baby would come early and be tiny, but in the end he was 5 days late and weighed 9lb3oz!

Hope that all goes well for you and that the nesting calms down. There's nothing more annoying that cleaning everthing over and over ready for the rest of the family to mess it all up again is there!?

I know what you mean - you keep cleaning and it just gets messed up again and then you get frustrated and think "whats the point", but then just can't help yourself and have to clean it all again! My dh thinks I am mad...

33 weeks is a bit early!

lulumama · 16/02/2007 17:14

both mine engaged partially early on, around 34 weeks or so and went full term with DD and induced a week early with DS,so not necc an indication

Hi Mistiek, DC2 has been engaged 3/5 for the last few weeks and no sign of imminent birth (am now 39 weeks pg). Had a bad bout of d&v last w/end but led to nothing just a tummy bug. As for the cleaning, I have been like that the last few weeks but only because I spend more time at home, so see the dust. But DP has started to nest, he has reorganised the fridge

Well another week has gone since I last posted this, So this makes me 34 weeks now. I saw my midwife on Thursday and she has said that she can not feel much of babies head now which means she is definately almost fully engaged. This has left me feeling very uncomfortable and yes I am constantly going to the loo for the slightist trickle, as if I dont the pressure starts off very mild contractions...
The same thing happens when she is moving alot. My midwife said these are not BH but are nothing to worry about its the pressure from baby on the womb. If I go full term that is another 6 weeks of constantly feeling like I have my periods and she wants out, the pressure down there at times is unbearable and last friday I had what felt like mild contractions for over 2 hours - I also have SPD so this is not helping....

mistiek i know how u feel!

Mistiek · 19/02/2007 10:40

Hanifah, please keep me posted on how things are going. I would love to keep this conversation going with someone who is going through the same thing. Someone who understands and I can have a rant with!!!! hehe...
Just so fed up now. Friday had what I thought was a show and a bit of bleeding on Sat morning, turns out to be nothing more than thrush??? (I did not know this caused bleeding).
I also lost my farther on Wednesday last week so have been quite emotional and rather irrational too over the weekend... and for me now its all just too much. Seeing the consultant on Wednesday and I need to make up my mind weather or not to ask him if he could bring my C-sec date up by a week or 2 - baby is measuring 2 weeks bigger and I have had steroids and antibiotics at 28 weeks... Just so many peple are still making me feel guilty about haveing another C-sec and wanting the delivery a week or 2 earlier why can't peaople just mind there own business - especially since most of them have not had babies before or had babies years ago... see I am ranting now - sorry..
Dont know what to do...?

mistiek im so sorry about ur father,it must be really hard for you. Dont mind people tryna make u feel guilty, do u wana hav d section at 36 wks? Im sure u dont want to take d risk of going into labor before ur booked in (my sisters baby was breech and they sectioned here at 38 wks but she was so anxious as she cud have gone herself before that)My bro in law is a doc and he keeps saying "u know its best if the baby comes at 40 weeks" and im like have u ever had a baby locked in ur pelvis for weeks on end? and anyway its not like we have any control over it plus its not necessarily better for baby to come later if theyre big already and have no room, the placenta reaches maturity anyway and starts decaying. AHHHHH! Its so frustrating isnt it? i keep checking everytime i go the loo for my mucus plug! How far gone where u wen u had ur first c-section? Have u used pessaries for the thrush cos i was told theyre ok to use and u dnt hav 2 worry abt baby as ur not havin vag del anyway. I want to use hair removal cream but scared of gettin thrush just before baby comes. Are u having weird dreams? I keep dreaming im in labor or have a show etc, cnt sleep for more than a couple of hrs at a time, so thirsty and my tummy actually feels sore like im gna burst. Im starting to think im manic depressive the way my moods are going,lol...I cnt imagine how u must b feeling with a personal tragedy to ad to the emotions in late preg. I really hope the consultant listens to you and u have ur lickle baby soon!
