Just that really!

Am 8 days over and had resigned myself to this baby never coming out ... Contractions started about an hour ago and don't seem to be affected by changing position... Sounds guess this is it!

Hi all,

Thank you so much for your messages :)
Yes indeed things did ramp up rather quickly.

Parents arrived at 12:40 and I was already in or nearly in transition... DH did the half hour drive to hospital in 13 minutes.. Which was good because I was starting to push!

Gorgeous baby girl was born 35 minutes after arriving at hospital at 8lb 11. No time for anything drug wise or intervention wise. Didn't even have time to crack open my essential oils or any of my other equipment.
Verrrrrry intense but amazing experience!

Wow congratulations!! Sounds very similar to my DD3's arrival - transitioning as I checked in, and didn't even bring the bags in from the car!

Bumplovin · 03/10/2016 10:45

Congratulations do you have a name?

billabye · 03/10/2016 12:44

Dilligufdarling · 03/10/2016 13:06

Thanks so much everyone!
She's a little smasher and has been feeding all morning :)

chip that was exactly it - first proper push was in the carpark when my waters literally popped and the bags stayed in the car in an effort to get to the right bit of the hospital! Maternity notes were all we had!

Can't believe how well I'm feeling now. I had a horrible birth with DS and this is chalk and cheese!
I wouldn't say it was a necessarily enjoyable experience but certainly it was an amazing one. Smile

There's a euphoria which comes with a 'straightforward' birth. I don't remember it with dd1, I think the first time is just so overwhelming. But I do with dd2 and dd3. It's like the best drugs ever. You could go and wrestle bears. I suppose it's to keep you going in case you DO need to wrestle bears.

Dilligufdarling · 04/10/2016 14:47

northern that was exactly it!
Was totally euphoric for most of the day yesterday :)

Thank you for all of the congratulations!
