lexij - think i became terrified in the last weeks and days before i had my LO 3 months ago - didn't quite believe that i was actually going to be able to give birth (!?) and i wasnt even sure i was going to enjoy having a baby all that much but you know, even though my labour was long (27 hours) and it bloody hurt, it really was miraculous when my ds was born and i can't believe how much i love him now. Honestly, your body CAN give birth, have lots of faith in yourself and remember to be as upright and mobile as possible in labour and try to "embrace" the contractions - know this sounds naff but when you get scared of them and tighten up it does slow things (think thats why my labour was so long!). Be really proud of yourself after the event, whatever happens - you have just created and produced a new person - wow! All the best
