Waxing before planned c section

Hi all I'm booking in some beauty treatments before baby and was wondering if any of you had a bikini wax before a c section? I haven't waxed at all during the pregnancy (did prior) just been using my bikini trimmer. I hate the thought of shaving and stubbly hairs growing into my wound!! Is it ok to wax less than 2 weeks before c section date my midwife doesn't really know! Thanks

Sorry really I meant in terms of the bleeding etc afterwards I find it cleaner. I prefer less hair personally but appreciate everyone is different

Hi all thanks for the replies!!! I went for underarm wax today and got them to do a little tidy up down there mostly round the undercarriage but as I never thought about actually it making it better to keep clean with the lochia! My midwife said it was fine but just to keep exfoliating the area gently between now and my section date. I hope I've done the right thing lol!!

I'll write back after my section so the feedback up to date to anyone else with the same question!! Xx

The most up to date advice is to not wax or shave due to infection risk but not all hospitals are following these guidelines yet

Trimming pubic hair so it's short and easier/cleaner with lochia afterwards is a good idea and I have always done that just as I would keep trimmed normally. You do bleed a lot and long hair can get a bit matted with blood etc but that's personal preference really.

Good luck anyway and do let us know about your new arrival once he/she is born :)
