Does anyone have any experience with requesting/paying for a room in the private maternity wing of an NHS hospital and what the chances are of having one available on the day?
I'm with St Mary's and I hear you can pay for a postnatal stay at the Lindo Wing but only if one is available once you've delivered - you can't book in advance.
UCLH you can book in advance but that only gives you priority and is still no guarantee - they only have 4 rooms and you could be bumped over a private patient.
Hard to predict on the day I know but it would be good to see if anyone here has had any experience with it.
