5 days post section - pain relief not cutting it!

Was wondering what you have all used for decent pain relief post section? I was given dihydracodine but it is pants. Gives me a fuzzy head and does nada for the pain. Just on paracetamol and ibuprofen but it's not quite cutting it. I might try the lysine ibuprofen but not sure if you can take it while still having the fragmin injections. They gave me diclofenec 4 years ago and that was great but it's been replaced with the dihydracodine, tis rubbish! Any advice appreciated, I thought I'd be more mobile by now :/

You shouldnt be in pain 5 days later were minimal pain relief is not enough.

Go and see a GP

Call your midwife. If the pain isn't improving, there might be something wrong.

Congratulations on your new baby! You should still be under midwife care - get them to check for signs of infection? I was still in a fair amount of pain on day 5 but was told that anything but paracetamol and ibuprofen was not allowed if breastfeeding. Try to take it as easy as possible and be waited on hand and foot.

Thanks, I've got a midwife coming later today so will ask her. I'm already on antibiotics for possible uti and they're giving me awful stomach cramps and diarrhoea :(
I had trouble going for a wee after they took the catheter out as well, my bladder wasn't emptying properly, they thought it was improving though so they sent me home....really hoping I don't have to go back in again :/

I was sent home with oramorph as well as para and ibu. Hope you can get relief soon.

I had a c section yesterday so am still in hospital. They've been giving me paracetamol, ibuprofen and tramadol.

Oh don't suffer I'm 13 weeks post section now but about week 2 and 3 were awful I had some diclofenac. Ring your GPS OOH if necessary you don't need to suffer.
