Caesarean on Private Med care

Hi,

I have previously had problems with my lower colon which means pushing in labour could result in another operation. I would like to have an elective Caesarean for this reason.

Does anyone have any experience of getting this covered by AXA PPP. Do you know what they would cover eg consultant fees, hospital stay etc.

My understanding of private healthcare covering pregnancy is that they will only cover unforeseen complications. I suspect that this wouldn't fall under this category, but you're best calling them up and asking.

I'm not sure that you wouldn't be better off having this done on the NHS - it sounds like it could very well be an appropriate indication for an elective section. Don't even think about private until you've discussed the possibility with a consultant (yes you may well need to talk to your midwife first but should be able to get seen for this). Good luck.
