Southmead or st.Michaels in Bristol

Hi there!!

I'm over halfway and trying to choose a place to deliver my first baby, MLU preferably. Does anyone have advice on either southmead or st.Michaels? Saw southmead today and wasn't overly impressed with it as it felt unecessarily medical. Will see st.Michaels soon.

I had DD2 at Southmead but not in the MLU. I was very happy with the experience. We had to stay in for 2 days and apart from being boiling hot (like most maternity wards) everything else was great.

I have given birth in both and didn't notice a significant difference. Parking was the main issue! Both bad for it so whichever is logistically easier would be my recommendation.

That's why I chose Southmead over St.Michael's and we live really near to the centre of Bristol!
