Scared about second labour/delivery

Currently 37+1 with baby number two, and terrified about the birth.
My DS was born in June 2014, I was induced with prostin at 41+6. Cue 16 hours of chaos. Labour ward was full, so I had to stay on the maternity ward for ten hours, which meant no pain relief except G&A or pethidine, neither of which I accepted due to emetophobia. Finally had an epidural after being moved, at 6cm dilated. Contractions then slowed right down, so had to have a drip to ramp things back up again. Epidural wore off down the right side of my body so was in agony again.
And then the worst part- at 9cm DS's heart dropped to 4bpm due to the cord being wound tightly around his neck, so had to have a large episiotomy and forceps right there and then. His has left me terrified of what will happen this time around.
Has anyone else had a traumatic first labour and gone on to have a more positive experience the second time?

My first labour was very similar to yours. My second labour I had some gas and air and two big pushes and out he popped. And he was 10lb! I had a small episiotomy to protect scar tissue from a major tear in my first labour but this was absolutely fine. I was up having a bath after the birth and home again in 8 hrs. It was honestly an absolute piece of cake compared to first time round and helped me get closure a bit on the trauma from first time.

Ds1 I dreaded his birth from about 29 weeks and I think that didn't help. I was induced, in labour for dags ended up with ventouse, episiotomy and bad bruising and so exhausted I was stressed out for days
Ds2 completely opposite I did a daisy birthing class and listened to the natal hypnotherapy CDs which really helped to calm me and think positively
I was calm through all the contractions (dh would say too calm! ) he was born without any pain relief and quickly. It was completely different and I was in a lot better place afterwards

Dc1 was a natural water birth. Planned a home birth for dc2. Ended up high risk, induced early. Completely different experience. Any future pregnancies will also mean an early induction.

I have been totally put off having a 3rd, because if the induction. It was so unlike a natural labour- so intense and I had absolutely no control and couldn't manage the pain. Well, I had to manage it, it just hurt and I cried a lot.

A natural birth will be an absolute breeze compared to your induction. Please hold on to the thought that this time you're body will be in control, not the induction. You've done it before, you are a pro. Please Belrive me when I tell you that natural and induced are worlds apart.

Feeling relieved here too.. I'm in a very similar situation to you OP.. DS was a traumatic first birth (induction at 42+1, emergency forceps) and now currently 38 weeks pregnant with no.2, dreading what might happen!

I had a 37 hour marathon with dd1 who was 9lb12, back labour, had the drip, eventual ventouse, diamorphine, though no epidural.

I was worried about it again but ds was 10 hours, simple delivery with a tiny tear, just gas&air. He was 10 days early and 9lb3

I then had to be induced early with dd2 at 36+6 (i had pregnancy induced kidney problems), but because my body had done it before it went smoothly, had the gel at 6am and she was born at 6.30pm with no interventions and again, just the g&a.

With Dd1 my labour was 19hrs long and bloody painfully.

23YEARS later with Dd2 water's went mad dash to the hospital just made it through the doors when she was born all within 40mins.

Just to add I had two inductions at 42 weeks. The second was nothing like the first as I think my body knew what to do so just got on with it. It was easy in comparison. First time I thought I would genuinely die from the extremity of the pain :(
