STRESSED! Induction planned for Thursday!

Third baby and over due again! Seems to be the norm for me both DS and DD were 2 weeks late but came naturally and delivered normally. Midwife has booked me in Thursday to be induced (term+12) and I'm terrified ..., can I not be left alone just a few more days to see if I can labour naturally!

To make it worse ....Midwife advised that maternity ward will only admit 'inducees' from 3pm but by 5pm DH has to leave until I'm ready for a delivery suite .... 🙈 I'm really not happy about this. What is he supposed to do .... Wait in the car when I need him most? It's really upsetting me that they will actually send him away! Has anyone else had experience of this?

You absolutely can wait a few more days if you like. NICE Guidelines recommend that monitoring every other day is offered as an alternative to induction if all is going well with the pregnancy. I went this route with my third and finally had her as a home birth At 40+18. No problems whatsoever.

Yes, you can be left longer if you want. It's up to you to weigh up all of the risks and benefits of induction vs expectant management. Induction is a choice, and it's a choice for YOU to make.

Where I live they don't induce until u r 2 weeks overdue. i thought the risks only increased after 14 days. Maybe you could call your midwife and ask about that. That would give you an extra 2 days. Nothing is risk free with pregnancy tho so make sure you do your research and are happy with your decision

Thank you all ... I've booked to see midwife today so I'm going to stress to her my concerns. I'm apprehensive of the hole induction part .... Forcing something natural ... I'd probably be more comfortable if they said I needed c sec. I don't want to be alone DH was with me for both other labours and tbh I couldn't do it without him by my side. You can say no. They may try to talk you out of it, but it's your body.
