When does the pain go after c-section?

I had a c section (under general anaesthetic) 10 weeks ago and my scar hurts when ever I do anything. It feels like a burning pain along the scar. How much longer will it be until I'm not in pain?

Did you mention it at your 6 week check up? I had a section 3 weeks ago today and have no pain at all now and haven't done for about a week. It might be worth mentioning it as the Dr may as t to check it out?

Doesn't sound right to me and I've have four abdominal surgeries including a c-section.
You might need antibiotic cream for the area, make a GO appointment

I found mine settled and then became more tender again around 6-8 weeks but it was probably because I was starting to do much more for myself at that point. Get it checked over if you're still in pain.

I had an emc under general anaesthetic too and suffered scar pain for a long time, only about a year after did I feel back to 'normal'. I think with a GA section it's normal to have more/longer pain, a midwife friend told me that they are much more brutal than other sections so the recovery is more painful and harder. Hope you feel ok soon.

Another one with an EMC under general anaesthetic. I found the recovery really difficult and would often wake up at night with a burning pain behind the scar. It's been 2 years now though and I no longer have any issues. The consultant warned me I may have a longer recovery because of the greater urgency involved in the process, there wasn't time to be careful.

I went to see my doctor who did my c-section who says its because I had a general anaesthetic. FlappyRose mine was similar, they didn't have time to get DH out of the room and he says they were quite rough.

I'm still numb up to my belly button on the surface but in pain underneath, I just hope it goes soon as it hurts to wear anything other than leggings/jogging bottoms :(

It sounds like nerve pain where they've sliced through. It really burns but then oddly, the severed nerves mean further up you feel numb. It will get better but when is very individual. Massaging the area very gently can help.

Thanks for the advice, I can't touch it, i'm having flashbacks which are really bad when i see my scar but i'll try and get DH to massage it.

You should seek some help when you're ready. I had ptsd and pnd after a traumatic cat 1 cs and the flashbacks and nightmares were debilitating.
