Third baby, is anyone up?

Thenightswatch · 23/02/2016 03:38

I think I may in labour, you'd think I'd know third time around, but no apparently not! Im 38+6.

Had upset stomach this morning, very little energy and just feeling off.

Irregular cramping all day, my mood was either super grumpy or crying over something stupid.

Went to be at 9.30 as was shattered, woke up at 2.30 with regular but mild cramping, I've been timing them, they're about 3-4 mins apart but not too sore, I can still walk or talk if i needed to, I'm having a homebirth so not sure if to phone midwife or not?

Is anyone up with some advice?

Feet up. Cup of tea. Be very kind to yourself. Can you go to the cinema or some thing?

TheGreatSnafu · 26/02/2016 09:10

Agh. Hope you are doing ok. Brew

Thenightswatch · 26/02/2016 10:52

I'm fine today, I'm trying to stop symptom spotting and enjoying time with my two DC while it's just the three of us, whilst trying to contain my very grumpy mood!

Thank you for checking in Smile

Ah well done to you. This last part is the hardest and longest.

pollyr01 · 26/02/2016 14:57

Hi ladies - can I join? Am 40 + 1 with no 3 and getting a tad annoyed with this now. Most unexpected given dd and ds were 3 weeks early. My hospital bag's been gathering dust for weeks now and I'm officially fed up with symptom spotting. Keep madly swapping between wanting a sweep now and then going down the 'how late can I leave it' route. Although the kids and dh are all getting so impatient.

Thenightswatch · 26/02/2016 16:00

Hi polly! Its mad isn't it, I'm about a week behind you and trying so hard not to symptom spot, I'm on my third too so thought I would be more relaxed this time! But after a convincing false alarm Angry i am so fed up!

Hope it happens for you soon!

I had start/stop mild contractions with DC3 for 2/3 days then it all stopped completely and I felt so fed up I sobbed over anyone that would listen.

Early the next morning (1am) he shot out in 6 minutes flat after my waters went whilst getting into bed and that was that. Luckily I was already on the maternity ward in the local hospital.

Good luck!
I hope it's not long for you now Thanks

NoodieRoodie · 26/02/2016 17:06

DC3 I had a day and a half of stop start half hearted labour, after the first night I shipped the other two DC off to my mothers sure that I'd have a baby that morning. After a very pissed off day I went to bed, woke up an hour later when my waters went and had the baby in an hour. It was a planned homebirth but things were going faster than the midwives were so DH ended up on the phone to the maternity unit ready to be talked through it! Luckily the midwives arrived about 15 minutes before DS2 did.

According to the midwives 3rd time around anything can happen! Hopefully it won't be long

Thenightswatch · 26/02/2016 17:17

I heard 3rd babies were fast but Shock

Glad I've planned a homebirth now!

Hi thenightswatch - have actually decided I dot really have a baby in here at all. Had reflexology today / she said she had a 100% track record inducing overdue mums within 24 hours. I've a feeling I'm about to shatter this track record. I just feel sorry for ds who's 3.5 and a bit fed up mum isn't joining in...I've stopped and started so many bloody times. Plus last 2 births were about 5 hrs total. Just don't know what to expect now.

Thenightswatch · 26/02/2016 20:58

Oh I hope it works! Keep me updated Smile I know what you mean though, it's like someone keeps flipping a switch on and off, it's exhausting!

My midwife told 3rd babies are usually fast when they do get started but are know for giving you a mess about on the run up!

Just checking in to see if any baby news hope you have a lovely easy labour after all this!

Thenightswatch · 27/02/2016 07:10

Not at my end, hopefully polly has some news.

Nobody has been pregnant forever right? I'll just keep repeating that in my head.

Nothing to report from me. Thenightswatch? Although I have just done a massive poo. Does that count as emptying your bowels?! Ha ha tmi. Anyway, sod this; au pair out on the town tonight so Ive booked a babysitter and out with the husb for a few drinks. (not that I'm really hoping to tempt fate or anything) convinced myself I'm not actually pregnant at all.
After 2 X reflex and 2 X acu (with tens) NOTHING happening. Argh. What is the % of babies born by 42 weeks? And did u know 41 weeks is considered full term in la France?

BirthdayBetty · 27/02/2016 15:50

Come on babies Grin blatant place marking to see pics of beautiful newborns.

Thenightswatch · 27/02/2016 20:09

Massive poo is hopefully a good sign! Oh, enjoy your drinks, maybe your waters will break in a spectacular fashion while your out Grin I've been swinging back and forth between crying at everything and wanting to do something violent!

I'm just so fed up, maybe our babies are waiting to become leap year babies? A woman can hope!

Ooo hi TheNight just found your thread hope you dont mind if I join in!

My third was 40+1 (DS1 was 38 and DS2 was 37+5) so later than the other two but the active labour part was the fastest (went to hospital and had her 2 hours later!). You'd think you'd be able to recognise the signs easier with your third but I didn't with mine Blush it took 2 hours of contractions 5 minutes apart for me to actually realise this wasn't a false alarm!

Good luck TheNight, good luck Polly - am cheerleading from the sideline! Thanks Smile

pollyr01 · 27/02/2016 23:11

Ladies. Anything???? Husb fallen asleep
Snoring so inducing-sex off the menu tonight. Thank you thatwouldbe - both my first 2 that early too. So this is unexpected. Went in at 10cm both times as well so my instincts on when to go to hosp rather unreliable. Combined with all these stop starts I'm feeling like the boy who cried wolf and I just don't believe my body any more. Nighty night all - creme andthenight hoping something might happen!

TheGreatSnafu · 28/02/2016 02:42

Anyone having a baby tonight?
Hope you all are well. Flowers

Thenightswatch · 28/02/2016 08:44

No baby here, was up all night with pains, but nothing now! I'm due on Wednesday, was late with my other dc so I don't know why I thought it'd be different this time.

I've given up on curries, pineapple and all that jazz and accepted that fact baby will come when she's good and ready. But still holding out hope that it's soon!

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 28/02/2016 13:46

Aww fingers crossed x

Has midwife been to see you?

5madthings · 28/02/2016 13:52

Aww op I feel for you, my ds3 was just like this, lots of nights and it's was always at night where I had contractions and all the signs of early labour and then it would stop.

My midwife said it was very common with third babies. Once it did get going it was all done in under three hours and just three pushes, very easy labour.

I am 35wks with Dc6 now so have it all to come again!

Thenightswatch · 28/02/2016 14:06

Yeah my midwife has been last week, she also said third babies just do as they please. Wish someone had told me that earlier!

Wow I really hope my labour is that fast, hoping its kind of like sneeze and oh there's a baby Shock wishful thinking?

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 29/02/2016 15:03

Any news? x

Thenightswatch · 01/03/2016 06:51

Not from me, was up all last night with on and off pains, for it all to be for nothing this morning Sad

Are you having newborn cuddles polly? I hope you are!
