Hi,
So it's my second time around. And i went to the hospital this morning because i was having contractions or what i thought was contractions. With my first i got induced and never experienced slow labour or slow contractions. The midwife said im 1cm dilated and she can put a finger in the cervix, know does anyone know what that means? I should of asked but i was tired. Haha. Also has anyone experienced this? I know it pretty normal to be dilated on second baby! But i haven't had a show or anything else. Star

If you have laboured and dilated previously you have what is known as a multips os. This means your cervix is already dilated or usually dilated. Can be more or less any dilation. Means nothing really

I was 1.5 cm dilated and not in labour at all, in fact I was quaint to start an induction. I'm afraid it just means we don't go back to 'normal' after our first baby.

Hope it arrives soon kx

I was 1cm dilated with my 1st for at least 6 days with nothing happening so I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet.

I agree it doesn't mean anything I'm afraid, I'm on dc3 and am 4cm dilated but no labour and booked for an induction next week. Also although I was 2/5 engaged at 32 weeks, then 3/5 engaged at 39 weeks, I'm now back to 2/5 engaged at 40 weeks so it doesn't mean much either unless it's your first. Sad

I'm 37+5, I had my stitch removed Monday went straight to 2cm with bulging waters. You can be dilated for weeks yet Smile
