Anyone with recent experience of birth at Hinchinbrooke or the Rosie?

I'm about 7wks with #1 and will need to choose a hospital for booking in soon. The most obvious choices for my area are Hinchingbrooke in Huntingdon, or the Rosie in Cambridge. I've heard from others that the Rosie is excels t but has suffered in recent years due to staffing whereas Hinchingbrooke is much less busy. Just wondered if anyone here has given birth at either hospital and can share their experience?

Hitchinbrooke is my local hospital and I'll be birthing there in the next month. So far I have been totally overwhelmed with how lovely and basically brilliant everyone has been with me in a consultant led pregnancy. Obviously I can't yet tell you anything about my labour.

The Rosie was going to be my preferred hospital when I lived in Suffolk but I ended up at West Suffolk as I was going to have a home birth and it was my nearest hospital. I did get to look around the new facilities at the Rosie and they were excellent.

I think you will be in very safe hands with either hospital to be honest.

I gave birth at the Rosie in Sept. I wasnt able to use the birth centre but the facilities are amazing. The care me and my little one received was incredible and I can't praise the staff highly enough. The postnatal ward was v busy though however I have no complaints whatsoever.

I was diagnosed with GD around 28 weeks and my prenatal care was also tremendous. PM me if you'd like to know anything specific

Rosie for two births outs self but it was exceptional, to out myself even further I have had two births in a different hospital and missed the Rosie, got a bit emotional when in London they wraped the baby in a blanketthat for some reason it had ROSIE CAMBRIDGE stamped on it (how that ended up in London?). It was quite a few years ago but the care was brilliant and I had the same, lovely Irish midwife both times. I think with any hospital you will find that all the care will be when you need it and if they very busy you will have a lot of wait on your own. I think the toilet/bathroom wasn't in the room (it was with the other hospital) and I do remember thinking that was better than the Rosie. This might have changed though because they have done up the birthing area and I think they have a midwife led birth unit now.
