elective section date same as strikes!

So I have my elective section booked for 12 Jan - the day of the junior doctor strikes! I have rang the hospital and they said they haven't decided what to do yet about planned operations on that day and they will get back to me.
I know that the junior doctors won't be performing the c section but I'm told that the consultants cancel planned operations to cover the junior doctors shifts. I'm not sure if this will apply to maternity services though.
Anyone else affected? If so, what have you been told? Worried I might go into labour before I get my c section and really just want to know what's happening!

Oh that's great! My pre-op is Monday! Think I will ring again today or tomorrow and ask again.

Have a look at this thread:

Ring to check, but most will go ahead.

Thanks everyone. Really helpful. I just rang again. They said no decision had been made and I should ring back Friday! I've arranged childcare etc around the 12th. I do support the strikes and if it's rearranged it's annoying but fine. It's the not knowing that is causing the difficulty. Apparently they need to check the rotor and see whether there is enough cover.
