Hello,
I'm expecting ds2. I'm 40+3 today.

Overnight I have had pains coming and going. Same today. Tightening of my bump, lower back dull ache and pain radiates up from my bits and bum if that makes sense.

I can't figure out if this is labour?

With my first he was back to back and the pain was in my back so feels completely different.

Any views?

No idea, sorry but sounds positive!

I'm 40+1 with number three but first was induced and second was posterior. So far have had some niggles and prelabour contractions that have petered out after a couple of hours. Midwife says it all helps, even if it doesn't "dilate", it's all helpful.

Am watching with interest! Hope for you it is, being >40 weeks absolutely sucks. Let us know!

I think it might be a good idea to time them and see if they are coming regularly. If they are, then it could be labour.

Try and rest as much as possible - I'm sure if it is labour your body will let you know about it without much room for doubt as your contractions get stronger and more regular!

It could also be braxton hicks - especially if you have been rushing around a bit with all the christmas preparation.

They've stopped... Been stop and start all day but haven't had them for a while. Praying I don't go into labour overnight or tomorrow!!!

sounds like a trapped nerve to be fair i had that with one of mine and i ended up with pins and needles in my ahem lady parts it was hysterical i really couldn't stop laughing

No I didn't know with DC2. Had annoying stretchy pain in the bits, thought she had just dropped. Went to get checked out just in case. DC2 born 3 hours later.
