Uneffaced, closed cervix... AGAIN!

I'm 38+1 today with second DC, went to my consultant appt this morning where they tried to do a stretch and sweep but couldn't as my cervix is completely closed. I really wanted a VBAC this time. Last time (15 months ago) I went to 42+1 after being induced then ending up with an EMCS for failure to progress as I didn't even dilate to 1cm after 22 hours of labour. I'm so disappointed, it's looking like its gonna end the same way if nothing changes soon. I've been bouncing on my birth ball every day, walking, plenty of sex etc. Anyone else had success in this situation and can give me some hope?

I wouldn't be surprised that your cervix was still closed at 38 weeks- be patience.

I had a induction that didn't progress but they refused a CS.

It's common nothing progresses until your on a drip- did you get that far?

Yeah I had a few pessaries (I was in hosp for 5 days) and nothing worked so they broke my waters then put me on the drip, little bugger just didn't wanna come out!

Just remember each labour can be different you may get the VBAC you wanted very soon X

I could have written your post 7 years ago. First dc I was induced at 42+2. 3cm dialated so they just broke my waters and put me on the drip. 12hours later I was still 3cm dilated and dd was getting distressed so emcs.
When I had dc2 I was desperate for a vbac. Had consultant at 40 weeks, s&s, same as you - completely no chance no where near. Like you I was devastated and resigned myself to another section. At 41 weeks they tried again, this time successful, labour began the next day and ds was born at 41+6.
Don't give up hope, you still have time

I know you must be disheartened, but your due date is two weeks away. Anything could happen. I always repeat that 'your cervix isn't a crystal ball', in that it only tells you what is happening at that particular moment and not what will happen in the future! Think positive and good luck x

You're only 38 weeks! Not even near your due date yet!

I know you might be nervous from previous experience, but calm down!
