Childbirth

Another live birth thread? But it's inconvenient!

Just phoned labour suite and have been told to wait, take paracetamol, try to get back to sleep...
All day yesterday my tummy was hard, but was ok when resting. Went to bed with indigestion and low grade period like pain. Woke up with pains every 7-10 minutes, bit of red spotting on the pad and pinkish discharge on the paper.
But I've got things planned! Carpet fitters! I'm not ready yet! (Well I am and frankly can't wait GrinBlush)

Exactly the same. I've decided I've done my best, so bouncing on the ball while dh cooks and plan to sleep after dinner. Hoping to be woken by strong contractions after a few hours!

Congratulations!
I've got an 8 month old dd and swore no more kids but my womb twitched when I read your birth announcement.

Thank you dogsmom. I'm not having any more though Smile.
With the first I was induced and don't think the labour was worse than now. So there's hope for you chester and cornish.
Baby was 3600g which is just under 8lbs. Perfect size Smile.

That is a perfect weight Jucy! DS1 was 3535kg so in hoping for around the same this time, tiny babies worry me I might break them! No baby here and no labour, it ramped up again during the night for a few hours but then trailed off again. No room for inductions at our delivery suite today so in just stuck in limbo now, not sure how long they will really leave me with my waters gone!

Oh chester it must be so tiring! Keep positive and keep bouncing on the ball, walking up and down the stairs, maybe it'll start on its own and won't stop. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Good luck and keep us posted! Smile

Still going Chester? Best of luck. Here's my update:
Thank you all for the support. Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. I couldn't get onto mn on my phone. Home now!
Avoided induction by contractions starting properly at 1.30am. Progressed very quickly and arrived at hospital at 5am, fully dilated. Unfortunately there were no baths available so had to do it on dry land. Only gas and air. Intense! Baby girl born at 6am on Wednesday morning. All well.

Congratulations and thanks for the update I keep wondering how you are both getting on. Hope you have managed to get a bit of sleep and that everything is going well. Sounds like it was a bit of a mad rush at the end! x

We finally had an epidural placed yesterday night (65 hours after waters going!) ready for the induction drip, but I was already 5cm so kept the epi in and laboured myself, went from 5-10 in an hour and had a lovely calm
Birth at 11pm in dim light with baby born on to me. Huge difference from DS1's birth. DS2 was 7lb 14 and is lovely and squishy. Need to stay in hospital until tomorrow so they can check he doesn't have an infection from the lost waters but he's looking good so far! Xx

Ooh chester! Lovely to hear you had good experience in the end! Enjoy your squishy baby cuddles and have a rest.
Congratulations! Flowers
