Anyone else approaching 40 weeks?

39+4 here and just wanted a little moan. I'm huge and uncomfortable. I waddle the school run twice a day and it feels like EVERYONE says "still not had it then?" twice a day.

Loads of braxton hicks and backache bit no concrete signs of anything happening. Sweep booked for next week and not happy with thought of induction.

DC1 was dead on time so fingers crossed this baby will be punctual as well!

I'm bang on 39 weeks today. From this week I'm only doing the school run in the morning, it was taking too much out of me!

Dd1 was 10 days overdue and I ended up being induced. I don't want to be induced again so it could be another 3 weeks for me Shock

Doje · 17/09/2015 18:07

Me! 39 + 1 today. I was also 2 weeks over and induced with my first so could still be a while.

My parents have got DS for a couple of days so feeling pretty lucky at the moment, having a couple of days dozing on the sofa.

Got PGP, and having trouble walking so hoping this one is out soon!!

worriedmum100 · 17/09/2015 18:19

I'm soooo tired too. Just walking up the stairs makes me want to lie down and go to sleep!

I'm supposed to be attempting a VBAC after horrible back to back labour last time that ended in an EMCS. I'm not entirely convinced I've made the right choice which is playing on min. Consultant told me yesterday that hey would still use syntocinon even though I've had a previous section so wittering about it now and just want him out!

I'm also meant to be attempting a VBAC, after failed induction. I have a consultant appt at 40 + 5, which, if I make it that far I will be begging for another c section as soon as possible!

What's the deal with syntocinon? I've not heard of that before?

Doje · 17/09/2015 18:26

Oh, just googled it - is that 'the drip' they use when being induced?

worriedmum100 · 17/09/2015 18:28

It's the drug they use to bring on contractions. I had it in my last labour and it's pretty brutal and didn't work for me as DS was just in such a bad position he wasn't going anywhere.

They did give me the option of an elective section if I went overdue but for some reason I cant quite fathom I agreed to try on my own - madness!

My one comfort is that this baby seems to be in the optimal position. If he was back to back is have definitely gone for the elective section!

I'm ten days away from my due date - when did you all start feeling really tired etc?
I stopped work (in a restaurant) a week ago and feel far more tired not being at work-can't decide if it's just that I'm further on or because I'm not being as active. I'm not sleeping as well or as long at night now (thus posting at 4am) as I was when working.
I want the baby out already so by 40 weeks I'll be going insane!

Poppytime · 28/09/2015 08:34

Hi dot - I'm 39+3 and been feeling more tired in past week or so, walking slower etc - I think it's normal! Hope you are managing to get a bit of rest now you have finished work? I'm also hoping baby will make an appearance soon!

dotladotla · 28/09/2015 09:12

Fingers crossed for us both Poppytime!

worriedmum100 · 28/09/2015 09:30

OP here! MY DS arrived at 40 +3 in the end after two days of irregular contractions that frustratingly kept petering away. Labour proper kicked in at 3 am on wednesday and he was born at midday by EMCS. Being pregnant already seems a long time ago!
