Could be the baby's head bumping against her cervix, that can bloody hurt! Does her bump go hard at the same time? If not, unlikely to be ctx but if it carries on she should see her m/w.

If she's really worried she needs to phone her midwife or the hospital ASAP. As helpful as people on MN are it really isn't a substitute for medical advice!

she's got midwife tomorrow anyway just wanted to know if anyone had experienced anything similer.

I've had that since about 32 weeks with this pregnancy (3rd) - am now 35 and a bit - from about 39 with my first - he arrived 2 weeks later. I've always referred to it as sitting on a pencil!

as the head engages...can cause pain..sort of an SPD thing possibly....unlikely to be anything sinister..sure midwife can reassure her tomorrow

if she has a show or loses any fluid..call labour ward as a bit early yet....HTH!
