Booked for Elective CS at 40+2...

Hi all,
Last week found out that we should need to have a CS due to medical reasons. Have been told that the hospital is full booked, and have been booked in for 40+2.

They said, dont worry, if you go into labour, we'll do an emergency CS.

Has anyone had this? I am very upset, wanted things to be as controlled and easy as possible, both other kids came before 40 weeks, so chances of this one lasting that long is slim. Thought of an emergency one while in labour terrifies me.

Have emailed hospital, head of midwifery and cheif exec complaining, but not sure what to do. :-(

Hopefully you'll get to 40+2 and not need to worry but I would try to push for it earlier if at all possible.

I had EMCS and it was still pretty controlled tbh. You would present at hospital as soon as you were in labour rather than waiting until contractions are closer together so you'd still have plenty of time. Hoping you're not going to say you always have quick 30 minute labours now!

Then it's quick to put in the spinal and sort the surgery once you're there.

Fingers crossed for you.
