Anxious about 3rd delivery

As title suggests, have recently found out I am expecting #3 and I am v anxious about the birth! Daft at such an early stage I know...

Background - both previous labours were fast (each no longer than 5 hours) but first ended in a 3rd degree tear that was repaired in theatre and second was a back to back labour with a failed attempt to turn the baby (this was manual turning by a doc with his hand up there - NOT pleasant!), a ventouse cap that popped off and finally me pushing her out but left with episiotomy stitches. So, dread to think what might happen next! Shock

I am so worried about more tears/cuts and stitches - will be a total state down there! I had excellent repairs both times but still both v unpleasant to recover from.

Any wise/comforting words?!

I know they asked at my last booking appointment about 3rd degree tears and episiotomy in previous births. Maybe there is a point at which they consider too many of these is too much? If they caused a lot of trauma, I would request a csection possibly. Did they mention any problems with future births when it happened before? I know when I had my 2nd my 1st tear reopened.

I had 2 horrible instrumentals with tears and episiotomies etc. Third was a lovely easy birth with just g&a, no tears, not a scratch. After the first 2 I felt like I'd been hit by a bus, after the third I could have run a marathon.

Every birth is different and you can't guess anything.

I had a consultant appointment when pregnant with #2 but didn't really shed any light on why it might have happened.

#2 turned round whilst I was in labour so couldn't even try to prevent it!

The unpredictable nature is what scares me - could be totally fine or could be another mess Sad
