Hi ladies. I am 36+4 and been having bh for the past few weeks.

Yesterday evening i was having the odd bh alongside period type pains and, intense lower back pain and was sick a few times.
I slept really badly off and on for a few hours, woke up and came down to bounce on my ball for a few hours. Still feeling rubbish but bh have eased off. I just feel rubbish, close to tears and panicking it is too early Sad.
I have a organised midwife appointment at ten, so not long to wait but I feel close.

Hi! Hope you're ok, you sound a bit frazzled.

My labour started intense period type pain contractions so I'm inclined to say yes this is it, but your midwife is much more qualified than me!

Take it easy for the next few hours, have a bath, try and sleep and eat something as if this is labour you will need some energy later on!

You mentioned that you're worried it's too early - I was born at 36 +6 and was (\am!) absolutely fine, just a little bit jaundiced. So please don't worry about that. They decide when they're ready.

Thank you for replying, yep frazzled seems to cover it! This is actually my second dc, but i was induced last time so have never experienced this part before.

How did your MW appt go duckbilled?

I came on to post a similar thread - I'm 36+6 today and have had masses of BHs for the last week or so. Since yesterday afternoon I have had them constantly, from every 15 mins to every 3 mins. And between 3-5am I couldn't sleep because of cramps in my belly and legs, sometimes my back.

This morning I think I lost a tiny bit of my plug - it was just a bit but was sort of stringy. Yuck. I really was hoping to get to Sept but I have no idea how long this might all take - they are certainly not real contractions but I just went straight into full blown labour (at 41 weeks) with DC1 so this is all new!

It went.... Well it went. She was very dismissive and said that it sounds like early labour, but it could last another week or two. If i am 'really' worried call the hospital.....
So basically wasn't that helpful at all lol. I do however have a extra scan tomorrow as baby is measuring small, so hopefully will find out more then.
shoot i also have been losing some of my plug over the past few days. I presumed it always came out in one big piece but no mine is trying to escape incognito Lol!

Ah, that's a shame, sorry she wasn't more supportive! You can lose bits of your plug and it will come back I think, but you'll know when it's the whole thing! For me, it was about 6 hours before contractions kicked off, but once they did they were very obvious and unmistakable.

The BHs are a very good sign though and if I were you I'd plan for it to go fairly quickly based on what you've said. Did the MW not examine you to see if you were dilating?

My BHs and cramps have quietened today so I'm assuming that there may be a while to go yet. I did however finally pack my hospital bag this morning Grin

I have followed you shoot and repacked my bag, i feel slightly more proactive now! Hope your feeling ok today.

Thanks! I had a really good night's sleep after a nap yesterday afternoon, so feeling pretty good. Lots more BH but no more cramping so just one of those things, I suspect Smile
