I am 40+3 with number two. First was 12 days late by c-section after failed induction. Trying for a vbac this time.

I've had two attempted stretch and sweeps at 39 and 40 weeks. Both failed as cervix was high up and 'posterior' whatever that means. But she did say my cervix was softer at 40 weeks and was 1cm dilated.

I have been seeing very small amounts of clear mucus in my underwear for a couple weeks but the morning after the attempt sweep,. I woke up to brown mucus in my underwear with more throughout the day and yesterday throughout the day. Some more red than brown.

I have been experiencing period type cramps for a couple weeks but they have been getting increasingly worse the last couple of days. Have been feeling shootng pains and have been using he loo a lot (not weeing)

Is this a good sign labour is on the way?

Have never gone into laboir before so it's all new to me..

I think it sounds like you have had a bloody show after the sweep which may mean labour should kick off in the next 48 hours.

I'm 5 days over myself and have a sweep booked for Wednesday. I've been having pains and lose bowels for weeks now too but nothing so far. Good luck :)
