Bulging waters broken outside.

I've not seen or read anything like this but when my midwife broke my waters they were bulging right outside of me, like a big bubble between my legs, and they ended up going all over her. All Google searches come up with bulging membranes just outside of the cervix. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it possible to push your waters out before you are fully dilated?

Mine says she could see mine bulging, she was just looking between my legs when I was pushing. They broke naturally but just 3 mins before my DS was born.

Yes because babies can be born with the membranes intact. It's meant to be lucky!

Yeah I've read it can be lucky. Now I wish she hadn't broken them. I'm in bit of a predicament about the events that followed after and believe I was told to push too soon. I've got a birth debrief in a few weeks. I'm sure I remember my waters being broken and it being longer than 9 minutes before my son was born, but I don't know if that was just due to the gas and air messing with my timescale of things. I mean is it possible for the 2nd stage to be 9 minutes?

My waters broke and ds2 was born less than 5 minutes later.

With ds1 there was about 5 hrs between waters breaking and him being born so I guess it depends.

There was about 10 mins between my waters being broken by the midwife and DD being born. My waters were preventing progress, as soon as they were broken she came out!

I guess so, maybe my memory isn't great. My issue is that I was told to push over an hour before my son was actually born yet they have it noted as lasting 9 minutes which I don't get. Do they time it from being fully dilated until baby is born or when they break your waters until baby is born?

My waters were bulging and they broke them so I could get in the birthing pool. I think dd was born about an hour later.

I'm not sure, I never really understood the timings with my birth either. I was definitely told to push too early (was told I was 10cms, an hour of unproductive pushing later I was reexamined and was only 9 1/2, had to stop pushing, have waters broken then go again!).

With my dd2, my second stage is recorded as 14 mins I think, started pushing at 25 past, baby born 39 mins past. So yes, can be pretty quick thank fuck

Just read your last question, um, 2nd stage should be from when pushing commences to baby born. I think!

Yeah that's what I thought. To be honest no one checked me before saying I can push, she walked out the room. o.O
So if it's from pushing to baby being born, they obviously have it wrong. I'm a bit suspicious as the 3rd stage lasted the exact same amount of time. Hm.
