Had a cervical sweep yesterday 1pm, from about 5pm till 5am had regular contractions then stopped. Started again today about 11am and still ongoing... just wonderimg if anyone else had similar experience and had baby soon?

In had a sweep at 5pm last Thursday my labour started 24 hrs later. Good luck!

I had a sweep at 12:30, contractions started that evening and baby was born at 8:20 the next morning!

It was a particularly efficient sweep if you get what I'm saying- I'd had 2 previously that hasn't been effective. The more it hurts the more effective if is!

I had contractions for 3 nights in a row that stopped each morning. Third morning I had a sweep, contractions started up again 2 hours later and DD was born the next morning!

I had a sweep today but midwife rang the induction ward to book me in on Monday. She explained on the phone that my cervix is not favourable I take that as the sweep will not work. Got another on Friday but not getting hopes up x

Had sweep yesterday still nothing don't think its worked got another tomorrow and I'm praying that one works

do you mind me asking if the sweep hurts?

lilac3033 · 09/07/2015 15:10

Mine didn't hurt at all. Just like a smear test. However I was fully effaced and 2cm dilated. I think that if the cervix is less favourable it would be more painful!

Cloe2014 · 09/07/2015 15:12

I don't think it really hurt as such it was very uncomfortable but I asked for another so it can't of been to bad. I think I've just got to the point now where I just want to do what ever I .can to make my baby come naturaly and a couple of minutes discomfort to me means nothing. If you've had a smear test its a bit like that without the scratch x

And from what u hear Labour is the worse pain ever imaginable so I just think it must be no where near as bad as that Confused
