telling people c-section date?

just wondering if you openly told people your c-section date once it has been confirmed? is it better to only tell those closest to you? interested to hear what others have done!

I kept mine secret from everyone except my dh and mum , who were coming with me. I wanted to be able to phone relatives and say guess who's here like I would have if I had a natural labour.

I'll only be telling the people I need to for childcare purposes. So in-laws, my older child's childminder, my mum if she's helping out. However, if my mums not helping out, I probably won't as she'll worry.

Only told close family. Sometimes things get delayed due to emergencies and really won't be feeling like giving constant updates to friends.

I'll just be telling those that need to know for childcare. With my 1st it ended up as an emergency a month early anyway, and sometimes you can get bumped if emergencies come in, so it's not always that date.
For me personally I like to announce the birth. If loads of people already know the date, and the sex there's not much to report. That's my personal preference though, you should do what feels right for you
