Did you have an induction planned which wasnt required?

I was induced with DC1 at 41+5. I am now 41+1 with DC2 and have induction booked for 41+5. Really want to go into labour naturally but feel resigned to the fact that it wont happen.
Did anyone have an induction booked but then went into labour naturally beforehand without any signs?

Yes 3 times. Inductions always booked because gone 10+ days over, every time was in labour by the time I turned up to be induced, first time wasn't aware i'd started other 2 I was but still on planned date for induction

I went into labour on the morning of my planned induction. I was supposed to phone at 8 to see what time they wanted me but it ended up being a slightly earlier phone call saying I was coming in! I was exactly 41 weeks.

Not me I'm afraid, ended up with 4 inductions as was well overdue!

Well, kind of, I was supposed to go in to talk about their offer of induction at 40+15, but I didn't go because I didn't feel well, and I had decided that I did not want induction anyway, so it felt like a pointless slog on a bus and a train which to be honest I could do without. So I rearranged the appointment for 40+18.

Gave birth at 40+17.

Yep - induction booked for 9am on a Monday, gave birth with 8 hours to go!

I had my induction booked with dc3 and went into labour early hours of the morning I was booked in for. She was born 2 hours before I was going to be induced.

Yes I was literally on the bed with a cannula in waiting for midwife to hook up the drip when she noticed I was having very mild contractions on the monitor so she decided not to induce. 4 hours later ds2 was born.

Yes second DC, was booked in for induction at 42 weeks, went into labour the evening before.

I was booked in for 41+6, then went in with reduced movements 41+4. Mw said I was in pre labour, so moved the induction to 9am the following morning, but I turned up at 5am 7cm dilated!

I think part of it was me finally relaxing, I hated the uncertainty of not knowing when I would go into labour. Good luck

Thanks . . . That's given me some hope. Really want to use the birthing centre but can't if being induced. It's my mums (RIP) birthday tomorrow so holding out that something will happen then.

I had my induction booked for Thursday just gone. Had totally resigned myself to it, and was hoping it wouldn't be too much over - the midwife told me with a second baby they'd aim for 41+5 but could decide to let me go 42 or more if they were busy in the unit.

DD was born on Monday at 40+9. I'd been on the overdue thread the night before moaning about Braxton Hicks and false starts and DH having to go to work when he was supposed to be off by now! But it happened spontaneously in the end.

Yes, twice. With DS2 I was transferred from an attempted homebirth for induction due to PROM. Labour suddenly sped up as soon as I got there and went from 3cm dilated to 10 in an hour. I went into labour with DS3 while waiting for induction (they were busy so had to keep putting it off. DS3 was born 15 mins after my planned induction.

Yes - DD born 90 minutes before scheduled induction at 40+16. Mind you this was after one hell of a hassle with the midwives to 'let' me go past 40+10.

I did have a midwife tell me when I was in for monitoring at 40+15 that if I hadn't gone into labour naturally by that point, I probably never would

Same here - was booked for induction at 2pm 40+10 but woke up with mild contractions. DH nipped up to shops for ready-made custard (irrational request from me) then decided to get a haircut and go through the car wash... We'd both read too many birth stories about how it usually takes all day... By the time he got home 2.5hrs later I was nearing transition, did Hollywood-esque race to hospital complete with comedy cleaner trying to stop the lift so she could sweep it out, then DD was born as the midwife was trying to check my dilation!!!

I was booked in for an induction at 40+7 after my cervix was found to be unfavourable at my 2nd sweep. I went into labour naturally the day before my due date, I was convinced I need the induction so didn't try anything specific but the day before that I went on a shopping trip and walked miles so that might have kicked things off. Once it all started DS2 arrived within 6 hours.

Yes! Induced with dc1 and induction booked for dc2 - I went into labour at 6am the morning I was meant to be induced and was due at the hospital at 9am!

I had been admitted for induction, got settled in, had everything hooked up. Plan was that I would get some sleep then they would start at 5am. Contractions started at 2am and DD1 was born at 9am. Simple and straightforward as it turned out. 40+10
