Length of recovery after 3rd section?

I just wondered for those of you who've had three or more sections, how long was your recovery?

When did you drive?
How long before you go out for a walk for more than 20 mins or so?

My third section was the least painful and the one I recovered best from, I was prepared, kept on top of pain relief and was driving at three weeks, less painful all round made sure I had big pants nothing to rub the scar, drank plenty of water, the worst thing was the wind and constipation I wish I had got on top of that earlier.

Yeah section number 3 was totally fine with me too. Found I was walking far more comfortable and holding my DS was easier. I think I've gotten better at knowing what to expect and how to sit/lie etc. deffo big pants and dry the scar with hairdryer on cool....something I wished I'd been told with previous 2 sections. Xx

I was signed-off to drive at three weeks, as I had three other children to get to School/Pre-School and argued that the stress, both physical and emotional, was much less on my body loading my car outside my house rather than hoiking a buggy and four children a mile to the bus stop and then being jerked around on public transport. I was more active, as I had more children to look after and it was a busy time of year. The only thing which was worse was the stitches, which were deeper because of the scar tissue and painful to remove.

I've got my third in 3 weeks too I'm so scared

Sorry you're feeling scared Layla888. Big loves. I know there's not much anyone can say to totally erase your fears but I hope by reading what's above you will find it a bit of comfort & help.

Hope so thanks. I had an appointment with the anesthetist last week as my anesthetic basically didn't work last time and they are giving me the spinal and epidural together this time. I took 4 attempts to get my spinal done last time and I've never been in so much pain in my life did anyone else feel their spinal was like sticking a knife in their back littrally?

I've had three sections and the third one was absolutely fine. I had complications on first and a lot of blood loss... Was weak afterwards, and i thought that was normal. Two subsequent sections were so easy. Driving After 3 wks, learned how to be careful lifting, etc.
hardest part is minding older kids - try and get help with this if possible.

My spinal personally wasn't painful but I have heard of women that do indeed find it probably just how you are describing it. i also think though that some aneathesists are simply better than others. Same as phlebotomists. Wish you lots of luck and a much better experience 3rd time round Layla.
