contractions before waters break.

I am 40+2. All day I've been having quite strong period type pains and lower back pain around every hour. I have not had any show / mucus plug or waters breaking - is it possible to be in very early labour or are these strong Braxton hicks.

I had one every ten minutes for two days, then constant non stop contractions for about an hour, then pushed, waters went, dd arrived.

No waters with me (other than a trickle when I'd been having contractions for 36h) until they broke them when I was 8cm.

Baby was so low down his head was acting as a plug!

My waters were broke artificially when I was 9cm. Good luck

Hopefully this is it! None of my 4 labour's Started with waters breaking. think it's quite a low percentage actually?

Just to update you all I went to the hospital at 2am on the 5th with 3 in 10 contractions and was admitted being 6cm dilated. Went into birthing pool for a couple of hours but didn't end up diluting any further. Got out to move around, to cut a long story short I ended up having a baby girl at 530pm with forceps. Thank you all for your advice. Bit disappointed that birthing pool didn't work out and feel that maybe delayed things.

Ps: just home today!

Oh congratulations! I think birthing pool slowed me down too, I had to get out for a bit, but then was able to get back in.
