This is a fascinating article - take the time to read it and make up your own mind before using paracetamol during labour undercovermidwife.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/paracetamol-and-labour.html?m=1

How interesting, I had a very long latent phase during which I took paracetamol, went for gentle walks and did yoga and relaxation. I could believe that extended things.

Interesting! I took paracetamol (only two) in my first labour and really felt it slowed things down. Didn't take any more.

Thanks for doing the link properly, splendide!

Yes I took paracetamol in mine too, was in labour for days. Ended up exhausted and with an emcs. Won't take it this time round!

Mine ended well - straightforward home birth - but I definitely think with hindsight that I spent a few days delaying things. I don't think the paracetamol helped me anyway so I probably wouldn't bother next time on a just in case basis.

I took paracetomol with second labour - definitely didn't slow things down.

I think it depends when you take it. If during full on labour it won't make any difference. But if during the latent phase, it may well slow things down.
