Million dollar question. Anything I can do to encourage labour after a sweep?

Had a sweep today (39weeks). Had high blood pressure so I'm booked in for an induction on Tuesday but I'd rather go myself before that. My cervix is soft and 1-2cm dilated and midwife thought about 2cm long so starting to efface. Is there anything I can do now that ive had a sweep to encourage anything to happen? I've lost some mucous but no blood or bloody plug since the sweep at 11am. ps for those wondering about sweeps it was really not painful and only a bit uncomfortable and over within seconds Grin tia

Sex. It won't be romantic, but i was holding a baby less than 24 hours later both times.

Thanks mrscog! Off to try and seduce mrholden.

Definitely sex and try and keep as active as possible. Walking, bounce on a birthing ball, squats. Good luck! x

Thank you! No change, loss of mucous and some mild cramping with bhs today.

Walking! Good luck!

Not really. Babies come when they're ready. There's not a huge amount of evidence to suggest sweeps do much either.

Sex
A long walk
A hot curry
Pineapple juice
Raspberry leaf tea
Clary sage
Sit on all fours or on a yoga/birthing ball as much as possible- no slouching!

Thanks all. On my birth ball now. Had my raspberry leaf tea, walk, looking forward to sexytime again later. Still having niggles and shooting cervix pains Hmm got myself resigned to the idea that nothing's happening naturally before Tuesday's induction really and I'm truly gutted Sad
