I'm 37w5d and I just started getting have quite painful stomach cramps.

How do I know if it's labour or just Braxton hicks?

I've looked online and for labour it says that my stomach will tighten but that isn't happening. But apparently Braxton hicks aren't painful and this is painful... Confused

If it's painful a call to the mw is in order.
Doesn't sound like BH- they are when your tummy tightens and goes
Completely rigid. Very weird when you have them for the first time.
They can be uncomfortable especially if you're sitting down but don't hurt.

Thanks Christelle

It's stopped now. If it happens again I will call the midwife.

With DC2 I had this frequently (twice a week or so) for the last month - each time Iwould time the pains, they were frequent and regular. I always then had some paracetamol and a warm bath and they stopped, so I assumed they were BH.

The ones that didnt stop after a bath and paracetamol were the real deal Grin

Yes, ThinkIveBeenHacked I don't think it's anything more exciting than BH...

DH is convinced it's the baby coming and is practically one foot out the door! Grin

I had painful braxton hicks for the last three weeks. The pain and tightening came together though. If you're not getting tightening it might not be.
Is it tummy cramps like you need to go to the loo?

More like period cramps but higher up on my bump RosyBee
