Ds was 10lb 7 I am pregnant again saw midwives who talked about vbac. Just can not imagine this being successful for me I am 5 foot 5 and no medical reasons were found for dc1 being so big we were both very well.
I don't look forward to the idea of another csection but would choose it over emcs. After dc1 my consultant and midwife both said they expected I would need further c sections my midwife said she also thought my pelvis was a 'funny shape' also adding to the reason why dc1 did not engage at all at 41 weeks.
We have since moved into a different trust so new midwives and consultants. Sorry for the ramble just wondering about your thoughts if you were me would you push for csection?

I guess only you can decide. My DC1 was over 9lb born by emergency c-section for various complications.

I'm going for ELCS this time round having been given the choice of VBAC as I'm measuring big again and concerned about getting a pelvic floor injury. Lots of other reasons too - last time I went a week overdue, I can plan childcare etc.

There are lots of good reasons to have a VBAC too though - quicker recovery being the main one but overall elcs wins it for me.

It's an individual choice though. What are the benefits of VBAC for you?

Thank you for your reply. The positive would be quicker recovery and less time in hospital but this would only happen if all went very well.
I think I feel like the reality would be prob ending in emcs which I really don't want.
So I am back to planned c section again.
I did a natural birth course last time and was a little surprised the hospital didn't want me to attempt labour but quickly didn't care once I had dc1.
I think I will push for c section. Especially seeing as both consultant and midwife felt this should be the plan for future babies.
Thanks plummy!
