post c-section...any reason not to get out and about?

I had a c-section 10 days ago and feel quite well recovered now. I have been out and about a few times with the baby in a sling -- but is there any reason not to do this? It feels fine and I was given no certain advice/timescales by the hospital.

Scar feels good but I can feel other scarring under the skin line, if you see what I mean. If anyone reads this who has had a c-section, will this go?/get less hard?

Thanks

If you feel good, gently going for walks etc is fine. Just don't overdo it and be sure to rest if you've had a particularly busy day.

Once you are 6 weeks pp you can do some gentle massage on your scar, that will break up the hardness

My GP told me that it takes about 12w for the internal wounds to heal. So by all means, a gentle stroll is fine, but please take it easy up to week 6 and remember to be kind to yourself up to week 12 - nothing strenuous. No heavy lifting, that sort of thing.

And congratulations! Thanks

Yes, the hardness/swelling takes time to subside and feel back to normal Smile 10 days is verrrrry early days. Any worries though, just ask your MW or HV Smile
