My DD had her son in Watford. The midwives and care were fine but not the cleanest place. That was 14 years ago though so hopefully it may be better.

I havent given birth at watford yet but had a look around both the ABC and delivery suite a couple of wks ago- both looked v good and scrupulously clean. Also went to triage at the wkend due to bleeding and the level of care I received was excellent. Im booked to deliver at the ABC in 3 wks and am v happy with my choice. Hope this helps

Yup I am also due to give birth at Watford shortly, at the ABC midwife led birthing unit. The midwife support has been excellent, the ABC looks lovely (fairly recently refurbished) I am hoping to avoid the delivery ward, for higher risk/needs but reassuring it is all on the same site if I do need extra support during labour.

I'm at Watford this pregnancy, very impressed with friendliness of midwives, scans on time, appointment letters on time. Very different experience at my last hospital (Whittington). The postnatal ward is small 3 rooms of 4 beds. I'm high risk so will be there. They also have an NICU / SCBU which hopefully I won't need but nicer to be in the same hospital as baby if needed. Of course I haven't given birth there yet but I've never heard good things about any postnatal ward anywhere!

I live in bushey too!

I had my second son at Watford after we moved to the area. Straight forward pregnancy and birth and I couldn't fault the experience at Watford. The midwives were brilliant! During my next (twin) pregnancy I was at Watford until 24 weeks and found the consultant led care excellent too. I had to be sent to Queen Charlottes at that point due to complications but as soon as I was 'allowed' to be discharged back to Watford, I jumped at the chance. My twins arrived at 34 weeks and again, the care we received during my section and the girls stay in SCBU was really good. I wouldn't hesitate to go back to Watford if I were to have another which will never ever happen Grin
