Hello,

Just received my consultant appointment for DC2 following EMCS with DD. I've got Rebecca Black not that Rebecca Black and I was just wondering if anyone had any personal experience of her? I'm pretty set on a VBAC and want as few interventions as possible - all I know of her is she's an excellent surgeon (a former colleague had her, but had an ELCS) but no idea what she's like on VBACs.

I've never met Rebecca Black, but I had a baby at The JR 6 months ago. They are very reluctant to do ELCS unless there is a very good medical reason. I guess that as you are seeing a consultant that your pregnancy is not straightforward?

Congrats on your baby! I had DD there in 2012 and had to have an EMCS because I was induced for pre-eclampsia, DD misbehaved and forceps and ventouse failed. So although nothing's especially untoward so far, I'm pretty high risk and if I develop pre-eclampsia again I will probably end up in the hospitality of Silver Star.

Good to know they're ELCS-shy; I don't really want to have a repeat c-section if everything progresses as it should.

She's absolutely lovely. She was the consultant on labour ward when I delivered my DD and saw me at my worst (think screaming banshee) and was v professional and lovely. Really clear manner of speaking and I'm sure she'll listen to what you want for your delivery. Good luck!
