38+4, braxton hicks, backache, exhausted and just desperate for this pregnancy to be over and baby to finally put in an appearance. The thought that I could have another 3 weeks is not something I think I can deal with!!

anyone else the same?

Meeee ! ! 39+3 and symptom spotting without really having any symptoms to spot! Had midwife app today and I'm booked for a sweep on Tues (due date is Monday) so fingers crossed that works as I don't imagine Bean will be here by then. Also have terrible wisdom tooth pain today so feeling even more sorry for myself than usual!

Mrscog · 02/04/2015 20:20

Yes me - 37+5 with DC2. This has been a much harder pregnancy, DS1 is 3 and a delight, but I just don't have any energy to be the parent I want to be. It's been an absolute CBeebie, crisp and biscuit fest around these parts. Having our fuse box moved and living room redecorated next week, the baby has to stay put until then, but after then I need my body back, I feel enormous, I can't walk anywhere at my normal speed, I just feel completely violated!!

Nomorethongs · 02/04/2015 22:30

Yes!!! 39+5, feel huge. Having odd cramps and generally full of guilt I can't do anything that my mad toddler wants. Was scared when I thought I was starting labour on Sunday, now getting more fed up and ready to crack on with it. No don't do well at unplanned things so this indefinite waiting is driving me mad!!!

lillamyy1 · 02/04/2015 23:59

Yes! Same here! Heavy, uncomfortable, very bored of waiting. 39 wks tomorrow here.
seaside that's very lucky you've got a sweep the day after your due date! Mine's already booked for 5 days after my due date as baby's nowhere near engaged yet! If I asked the midwife do you think she'd see me sooner and do a sweep if engaged then??

rightguard · 03/04/2015 07:51

I have a sweep booked for 41+1, and head 3/5 engaged.

still not sleeping, have been tossing and turning all night. Although I dreamt I was in labour and was very passed off to wake up and find that despite dreaming about being in a lot of pain with contractions that it wasn't real Angry

Fab... A place to whinge!!! I'm 39+3 today and no sign of labour imminent. Which is probably a good thing, as I've had a bug for the last two days which has wiped me out and I've been terrified at the thought of having to labour whilst feeling so ill.

Hope Easter is good for each of you (the chocolate should help, at least!)

hst986 · 03/04/2015 08:03

Argh! Rightguard I'm so jealous! I was 40+1 yesterday when I saw mw and she wouldn't give me a sweep! Apparently I'm not overdue enough and because of Easter the earliest I can have one is Tuesday..... Needless to say I went for the 8.30am appt!
Kind of hoping it'll start naturally before then but I've been convinced that baby will arrive on Easter Sunday since very early on, absolutely convinced. Psychologically fed up now!

MadamSwish · 03/04/2015 10:56

Ugh, I'm 39+5 and particularly pissed off with it all now. I've not had a single inkling that this baby is on its way out.
My midwife has booked me in for a sweep on Sunday so I'm hoping that will start to move things on. Knowing my luck, it won't.
Can you tell I'm feeling sorry for myself?

waiting78 · 03/04/2015 11:15

38+1 here. had sweep yesterday but doesn't seem to have done much

lillamyy1 · 03/04/2015 12:33

waiting how come they let you have a sweep before 40 wks?

littlesupersparks · 03/04/2015 12:43

I'm 36+1 with twins. I have terrible cold and can't breathe properly plus a DH doing DIY, a nearly-5yo with a birthday to plan and who needs entertaining and a nearly 3yo who is dosed up, grumpy, poorly and going stir crazy. Luckily the little one still naps so I'm currently in bed trying to catch my breath - elevated to avoid heartburn.

It feels very imminent - twin 1 head well down and lots and lots of pressure down below. My mum comes up to help on Tuesday and until then is 3.5 hours away so let's hope nothing moves too quickly!!

waiting78 · 03/04/2015 13:26

lilla I had a growth scan yesterday as belly measurement showed reduced growth. After that consultant said nothing to be concerned about but she could do a sweep to try get things moving? I had ELCS with my first so this is all new to me, is a sweep at 38 weeks not normal?!

lillamyy1 · 03/04/2015 17:38

Hmm, that's interesting. I'd have imagined they'd leave it if there wasn't anything to worry about Hmm Well from what I've read, they won't usually give you a sweep unless there's something wrong or you're quite a bit past due date.
I'm booked in for one 5 days past my due date but reeeeeally want this baby out ASAP! He's nowhere near engaged and if he's still not engaged when I go for my sweep then the midwife won't be able to do it anyway and I'll have to wait for another 5 days for induction!!
I'm only 5'3" and this baby is HEAVY so I reeeeally hope he decides to come out very soon Confused
littlesuper that sounds exhausting for you! I hope those babies come out as soon as your mum's available!

monkey2014 · 03/04/2015 21:14

I've been offered a sweep on Monday when I'll be 39+6, I think it just depends where you live as my friend lives somewhere where they only do sweeps after 41 weeks. I would rather baby came on its own before Monday :)

rightguard · 04/04/2015 08:42

ugh. another night with no sleep. really had enough now, my poor older dds are being ignored and my do is pretending to be husband of the year 'ill get up with the kids, you stay in bed' yet 20 mins later he's showing no signs of moving so I get up. and I know if I bring it up ill get 'well I told you I'd get up, but you chose to get out of bed' Angry Angry

on the plus side, 39+6 today so the end is in sight Wink

OP posts:
rightguard · 04/04/2015 08:44

Make that 38+6.

Seasidedolly · 04/04/2015 11:43

In my area (Bristol) the midwife said they do sweeps from 40 weeks although I have seen others say they don't get offered them till 41 weeks.
Currently suffering with a cold and wisdom tooth pain as well as the lovely side effects of being 39 weeks pregnant!

lillamyy1 · 04/04/2015 12:34

Oh rightguard I can only imagine how difficult it must be being in this state and having to look after other DCs as well. I felt very sorry for myself yesterday due to lack of sleep but at least the only person I have to take care of is me.
I've read on the NICE guidelines that if it's your first baby you can request a sweep from 40 wks but if it's not your first then it's from 41 wks (which seems a bit odd since its first baby that tend to be late?? Hmm ) Anyway, I'm going to call my midwife on Monday and see if they can try and do one on my due date.
Can I ask, will I know for sure once baby's head is all the way down??

rightguard · 04/04/2015 18:27

I'm in bristol too seaside dolly. are you going to southmead or St Michaels?

OP posts:
Seasidedolly · 04/04/2015 19:30

rightguard I'm going to Southmead as it's closer and parking seems less of an issue plus less chance of DH getting lost on the way. How about you? Going for the birth centre bit providing I don't go over and need to be induced so hoping for a pool room. Did look at Cossham which is lovely but the 40 minute transfer time to southmead put me off a bit, not brave enough as this is first baby. My friend just had an ELCS at Southmead and she said the care is wonderful.

rightguard · 04/04/2015 19:52

Yeah I'm doing the birth centre at southmead. i like that an epidural is only down the hall if i need it! I had dd2 there and they were great. Although she's nearly 7 so was a while ago.
