Stitches after birth

After some advice, I had a little boy 8 weeks ago and suffered a third degree tear. All seemed to heal well but then I got an infection so had anti biotics, that cleared up but now I can feel what I think are two stitches. It can be really sore when I sit down to. Thought they would have dissolved by now but maybe not. Shall I go to my gp? I don't want another infection ??

I had an infection in my episiotomy scar and a stitch didn't dissolve properly in that area, the midwife pulled it out. I'd ask your gp to have a look.

Oh god that's what I'm scared of-did it hurt when she pulled it out? X

I had something v similar, my GP pulled it out. It didn't hurt (maybe a tiny bit, but given that I don't remember it really can't have been too bad!) I had no more problems after that and it all healed up very quickly.

So my advice would be to see your GP or appropriate care provider asap. It is most probably relatively minor and once the stitch is removed it will clear up quickly on its own I'm guessing Smile

No it didn't hurt at all and felt much more comfortable afterwards.

I had an infection after episotomy but it did clear up after anti biotics but took awhile to feel normal ish
