I would ring your mw to get advice, you may need monitoring. Good luck x

Mine started to come away at 33 weeks with my first. I had him at 40+11. I don't think its necessarily one of the 'signs' as it replaces itself all the time. It's different for everyone.

If you're really concerned, speak to the midwife otherwise I'd say don't worry about it.

With both of mine I started contracting 2-3 hours after losing plug.

Fingers crossed I am like fern. Just gone into panic that I could be a week away from birth like last time but hoping for another few weeks to get over my cold, finish work and the extension, prepare for the baby and maybe even have a bit of a relax. Spoke to it at the doctor (was there for my cough) and she said it probably will be sooner rather than later but not necessarily immediately.

For me, 2nd baby, half an hour. Baby arrived 3hrs later! Can't remember with no. 1.

NoRoomForALittleOne · 20/03/2015 22:26

LIG for me it has ranged from hours to weeks depending on which baby. I lost my mucus plug over tues/weds at 33+6-34 weeks. It may regenerate, it may not. I'm trying to ignore the fact that it's happened as it is a bit of a rubbish indicator of impending labour. All it really shows is that we're very pregnant and will have a baby soon-ish...

Was frantically googling thid myself seven weeks ago! In my case it was less than a day. But I'd been having strong BH for a week before. Good luck!

My waters have just gone (I think) so have a feeling it won't be the 8 days I got last time. luckily got my hospital bag sorted yesterday although got a tesco delivery due tomorrow with all the missing bits.

I wouldn't worry about the Tesco delivery. I'm sure they'll appreciate the exceptional circumstances. Good luck!

Well he arrived at 12.40am after contractions starting around 11pm. He is now asleep and scrummy Grin

Congrats LIG. I popped on to say 2 weeks, lol, but you won't be needing my words of wisdom. Grin enjoy!

LittleRedDinosaur · 22/03/2015 04:10

Congratulations!

Carrierpenguin · 22/03/2015 09:55

Congratulations! Wonderful news

LIG1979 · 22/03/2015 12:56

Thanks all! I was hoping to have a little time before he arrived to sort things but now he is here I wouldn't change it. Will deal with all the other things at some point, I guess.

Congratulations! Of course you will, don't worry about that for now, just enjoy your new baby for time being & borrow anything else you need from hospital / get family & friends to buy it in meantime - thats what they are for while you are bonding with baba!

Sound more prepared & relaxed than I feel, my first is due 1st April & have most things sorted as am now 39 weeks; still nervous about the actual birthing centre / giving birth bit :-) At least we know he's a boy, I've finished work already & my sister had her first, also a boy in Nov, so have advice on hand as MW team are bit lacklustre on the regular support thing where I live...
