Persistent diarrhoea at 40+8 - could things be kicking off?

Since Thursday night, I've had the trots - 14 dashes to the loo and counting. Grin Very loose - diarrhoea basically. Always preceded by a got-to-go tummy cramp.

I had diarrhoea at the start of labour with DC1, but this was after my waters had broken and contractions had started. I was definitely already in labour IYSWIM. He wasn't as late as this baby.

With this one, I've been getting the odd twinge/period-like cramp/cervix pinching feeling for days. No bloody show, but an awful lot of painless Braxton Hicks for days. Nothing else - other than bloody endless shits.

I'm now booked in for an induction Friday. Surely my body won't manage a whole week of diarrhoea (it's such that I don't feel I can venture out in case I'm caught short - miserable) right up until induction with nothing happening labour-wise? Sad I expected the runs in early labour, but not a week of it!

Apparently, when prostaglandins are released and start working on softening the cervix, they also loosen the bowels. So I'm hopeful some shit's going down down there, other than just the shits.

What do we think?

Anyone? Had another bout first thing this morning. Just didn't expect days of it like this - fourth day now. Draining and leaves me just wanting to stay put, which is a bit miserable.

Hope so for your sake.

I had NO signs at all with DD which is very frustrating when you're overdue.
