ELCS was your baby ok?

I had an ELCS at 38 weeks and baby was taken to special care due to being slow to respond and having low blood sugars, she was fine next day but it was a horrible unexpected experience with what was a planned section. I'm now 40+2 and have ELCS planned for 40+6 so I'm hoping baby will do better when delivered.
Can anyone share their experiences?

Not exactly the same but I had a emergency section after failed induction at 39 weeks (gestational diabetes) and my wee guy was absolutely fine. Latched on independently as soon as he was put on me in recovery and he is still currently feeding aged 7 months :)

EMCS here, DD came out shouting! Once she was cleaned up we had lovely skin to skin and a feed whilst they patched me up.

First two Cs were fine, one emcs and one Elcs. Number three was a spanner in the works Wink, nice easy Elcs and she was resuscitated for 9 mins at birth then in and out of special care for 48 hours. She is nearly two now and v determined, I often wonder if this is linked to her adverse start!
