Bleeding post partum?

I had a PPH with my first but was lucky as only bleed for a week/ 2 weeks ish afterwards and locia all stopped by about the third week.

I might be having an ELCS this time- do you bleed more/ less afterwards or does it just depend on the person?

( didn't know whether they removed some during the procedure - sorry if that sounds naive ! )

Loss is typically the same as for a vaginal delivery.

Yes it makes no difference. Up to 6 weeks is pretty normal with any method of delivery. The bleeding coming from your placenta site and uterus is no different with a cs.

4 weeks on from my section and still bleeding here.

Oh and my wound still hasn't healed and is still leaking fluid. 4 weeks on and 3 courses of anti-biotics later. Wasn't expecting to deal with that!

I didn't bleed much with either Cs. I think you can be lucky-they do cauterise a lot of vessels and clear you out as it were!

I only bled for 9 days after my elcs and it wasn't even heavy. In fact I was quite worried that I wasn't bleeding enough, seems daft now. I really think it varies from person to person.
