So I'm 38 weeks today, last night started getting tightening pains across the top of my bump and round to my back. These were every 5-10 mins maybe, didn't last long and only painful enough for me to say "oooh!" And clench a bit! They felt different to hicks I've had.

They tailed off when I slept but I was awake in the night feeling shaky, and felt like I needed to be sick or have a poo (sorry tmi!)

This morning I've been on the toilet twice by 6am but its not loose (sorry again!) And then threw up until there was nothing left! I still feel crampy, with back ache but not like the tightenings I was having.

Labour?! Bug?! Please not a bug!

Sounds like the beginning of labour rather than simply Braxton-Hicks warming up!
Just go with it as your conscious brain is just a spectator in this amazing task - it is the only time in your life when your subconscious brain simply takes over! (But in its own time of course...)
Oh and keep hydrated with lots of water as you seem to be losing a lot!
All the best

I'm 39 weeks today - Sunday/Monday I was up all night throwing up and had diarrhoea all day Monday. Then "Delhi belly" from six am Thursday. Can't possibly be a coincidence to have two stomach bugs in a week, right? Hoping it's also body gearing up. Good luck OP!!
