Abdominal pain after EMCS, what's going on?!

I had a section last on Wednesday, so a week ago tomorrow, and the "wound" is absolutely fine, healing nicely, however I've got a pain sort of midway between the wound and my belly button. Is this normal or should I be concerned about some kind of internal infection of some sort? Fwiw I have been overdoing it massively as baby is in NICU so ive been doing far too much but because the visible bits looked fine I wasn't overly concerned, until now cos this is agony! So, normal agony or not?!

hmm, my EMCS was painful for weeks afterwards but only on the wound. you should get it checked out to be safe. The last thing you need is for you to be poorly too.

hope your baby is much better very soon.

Poss that you have been overdoing, understandably so, get the midwife out to have a look tmrw morn, you should still even be able to ring the ward you were on if only a week ago? Check your notes if you can for number? I had an emcs and it was more painful if I over did things for sure but after day 8-10 when stitches came out it steadily got easier and more comfy , get checked over asap then you can carry on focus on getting to and from the nicu, hope your baby is ok.

Oh yes meant to say, look out for other thingss, eg, temp or sickness, poss signs of infection. The midwife /doc will reassure you or sort it out, a cs is a big deal and you need take care, sorry can't be more help, it's amazing though how quickly it gets easier after stitches out. Good luck with everything.

Get it checked. Could you be constipated?

You should still be under MW care. Did they not give you a 24hr number to ring - like maternity triage?
