My first two babies were late and my third was ...

Currently 33 weeks pregnant with #3. My first was 12 days overdue, second was 6 days overdue, so I've been assuming that this one will also be late and I've got ages. I know the interweb can't give me a definitive answer but would love to hear whether in general, if you've had two overdue babies, the third is likely to be late (or at least not early!) too. Think I'm just a slow cooker :)

First almost 2 week over (induced)
Second, 5 days over (in labour those 5 days)
Third 2 week early, went into labour at 37+1 :)

Dc1 - 2 days late
Dc2 - 5 days late
Dc3 - 12 days late
Dc4 - 3 days late
Dc5 - 8 days late
Dc6 - 14 days late.

DC1 4 days (though 7 by my dates)
DC2 13 days and induced
DC3 9 days, waters broke then nothing happened so induced.

They like to hang around :)

6 days late, 10 days late, 12 days late (induced). Definitely slow burners in my family!

DC1 - 12 days late
DC2 - 11 days late

Currently 37wks with DC3. I'm glad you posted this as I have been wondering the same thing. I'd love to be early this time or even on time! I feel really ready now but worry I might still have 5 weeks left!!! :(

DC4 - currently 38+4 and finding my above statistics a little depressing!!

After 2 late DC's (5 days & 9 days) my 3rd DC was a week early.

Dd1 - 12 days late, very comfy where she was and hauled out by forceps!
Dd2 - a week early and interrupted lunch plans!
Ds1- Induced 2 weeks early as Dr concerned he was going to be massive! He wasn't!

Dc3- 10 days late (induced)

So I'd assume overdue and anything better is a bonus :-)

Late. Officially even later than his sisters, but they changed my dates at the scan and I think that they were all 8/9 days over.

My MW was convinced I was going to go early. I was not. Being right almost made up for the yuck of being over again. Grin

My first 2 were 5 days and 4 days late, respectively. Dc3 was 4 weeks early after my waters broke at 35+5.
I was not prepared!

Dc 1 - 14 days overdue natural labour slowed so induced
DC 2 - 7 days overdue fast and furious arrival
Dc 3 - 3 days overdue fast but not so furious
Dc 4 - 4 days overdue stop start longer calm labour born with sac intact!

I know a few mums who've been told by their mw at 37 or so weeks they were going to go any minute and who then went overdue by two weeks. So cruel!

Kansasmum re induction due to large baby who wasn't, heard that a few times too, so infuriating :(

I feel like this one will be late, just can't imagine going early (though DC2 was born in the early evening on a beautiful sunny summer day and I'd always imagined labouring at night, so that was a bit of a shock too), but might pack my bag in the next couple of weeks just in case ...

I've heard if you have a long period cycle you are more likely to go over due, if you have a short cycle 21 days you are more likely to be early. Don't quote me though just in case

DC1 induced at 42wks
DC2 spontaneous at 9 days over (well after a number of sweeps!)

I was convinced DC3 would be between 40 and 40+9 I even went into what felt a lot like labour on my due date whilst shopping. Got home it stopped and never started again til I was induced at 42wks

If I ever have DC4 am assuming it will be another 42weeker!

I may change my tune in a month but atm I'm quite happy with the thought of being late - I don't feel quite ready yet! Grin

I quite fancy the idea of it arriving during the Easter holidays, so hopefully won't be too late ... (EDD by scan is 13th April but 18th April by my dates; holidays finish on the 20th)

All 4 of mine were late and ended up being induced. I have long cycles and think that is def. a factor as I don't ovulate on day whatever IYSWIM

Thanks for starting this thread, only 14 weeks with DC3, but interesting to see if you've been late twice, you're likely to be late a third time.

I was 11 days overdue with DC1 and 10 overdue with DC2.

I do have long cycles so chances are going by this logic, DC3 will also be overdue...
