Chelsea and Westminster New Midwife Led Unit

I'm 6 weeks pregnant for my first baby and am considering having the birth in the new midwife led unit (assuming I'm suitable / normal pregnancy etc.) at Chelsea and Westminster.
Also I am considering hiring a private midwife so I can have continuity of care and build a relationship with the midwife. This is important for me since I don't have any family in London so am looking for that extra emotional support and not sure the limited (and apparently rushed) care offered on the NHS will suffice.

Has anyone had their baby in the new midwife led centre and can offer any feedback? (positive or negative). Along with advice on if a private independent midwife is worth paying for.
Thanks!

I can't help on your specific question about the MLU or private midwives (though they sound great!) but I wondered whether you've heard of doulas? They are a lot cheaper than private midwives and are not qualified but are experienced women who give emotional and practical support to women in labour and in the postnatal period.
